Week in Review

27 Apr

I’ve finally done it. Finished this semester- finals in (and hopefully well received grade-wise.), moved out, and almost done with work at The Awful Waffle until Julyish. Congratulations everyone! BYU readers: I’m sorry I said you sucked. While somewhat true at the time, it was uncalled for. Anyway, this past week was NUTS! I had the weirdest schedule of Provo commutes, finals, and work. These pictures are a documentation of the week.

Monday, I did some training at The Waffle (Caitlin is practically a crepe making pro! Thanks to yours truly.) Tuesday, I had a early morning final and then enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at Guru’s with Katelyn. Afterward, we walked down Center Street and admired all our favorite houses. Seriously, house envy. Why can’t I have a gorgeous house too?! WHYYYYY?

Tuesday evening Martha Mae and I went up to my parents house for a sleep over. “SLEEP OVER!” We played some Hand-and-Foot with Grandma and fell asleep two minutes into Downton Abbey. It was magnificent. In the morning we hit up Oquirrh Mountain Temple (they have laundry shutes- WHAT?!) and got lunch- for freeeee- with my Mama and Grandma. After a wonderful meal we headed down to City Creek Mall in Salt Lake to shop for our boss’ baby gift. Did we go overboard? Perhaps. But you can’t just buy one baby outfit. You obviously have to buy three,  and some saltwater sandals, and a book. Let’s be real. After all that shopping we were starving. So we enjoyed some Nordstrom’s Cafe. Classy as usual.

Thursday I had three, THREE, finals. Ridiculous. That night we had a work party/baby shower and it was bomb. We stayed entirely too late and I had a crazy drive up to Salt Lake. But well worth it. Today, I got to sleep in for the first time in what seems like forever- my bed at home is way too comfortable. Then I had to say good-bye to Moo. There was a lot of water… leaking… from my eyes? I don’t know.  It’s whatever. I cried, okay?! 4 months is too long away from that girl. She’s just the sweetest. Now, I’m watching Tangled. Mostly for that one song when they let go of the lantern things? Why is it so good? Also, why don’t her parents ever speak? Is it more profound? Or just creepy? I can’t tell.

Well that’s it! Tomorrow is my last day at The Waffle for a few months! Is is wrong to be kinda sad Summer is beginning? It’s seperating me and my friends, family, and my job that I love. It’ll all be worth it for the weather in San Diego, right?

Currently…

17 Apr

It’s the week before finals week, unless you are a BYU student. Then you just suck. A little. I’m trying to simultaneously finish homework, take tests, study for finals, move, and work at The Waffle all while trying to keep up on my Hulu shows. I’ll tell ya- it’s difficult. You’re probably thinking, “Why not cut out The Hulu?” I’ll tell you why! The Hulu is the only thing keeping me sane. (Also, I like to put “the” in front of titles. The Costco. The MomThe Hulu.)

So, in attempt to be somewhat normal I’ve decided to update the blog. I only really have time for a semi-update and because my friend Brooke taught me how to create lovely photo collages I thought I’d do one. She’s a great (and consistent) blogger and I’ve obviously failed her by not completely mastering it but it’s good enough for me, okay? So here it is- my life lately in picture form:

1) Martha Mae at one crazy birthday party. 2) Math, P.E., and music homework. 3) The crazy hail/snow/rain storm this past week rolling in. 4) Sauerkraut and I enjoying some Guru’s.  5) Moo Bear rocking the free glasses I found for her. 6) I love my job- it provides my breakfast almost everyday.

If You’re Happy and You Know It

3 Apr

Doesn’t life seem harder recently? Maybe it’s just me. I blame winter. Anyway after watching General Conference this past weekend I decided to stop moping and be completely and entirely happy with my life. So, with that, comes another happy list:

This girl has been with me through my entire funk AND still wants to be my roommate in the fall. Bless her little heart. Katelyn is just one of those people that makes any situation more fun. We can watch TV at my apartment, eat out (A LOT), go to a movie,  or just drive around and I have a blast. She is a champ when it comes to Canadian jokes (Grow up guys, it’s just like America but colder!). Her face is beautiful. Seriously, gorgeous. She’s always up for anything, especially Frosty’s. We love Frosty’s.

Just look at that face.

Honestly, so happy to have this girl in my life. She thinks the same mean(ish) thoughts I do, laughs at the same stupid commercials, listens to Beyonce, Justin Bieber, and One Direction (doesn’t mind breaking it down if need be,) and approves wholeheartedly with my fast food addiction. Morgan (aka- MooBerry Crunch) has no shame which makes for some good times. I don’t know how out of all the millions of Mormons in Provo, UT we found each other. Heavenly Father sure has a sense of humor.

It’s here! It’s here! Spring has sprung. Depending on the day. Despite Utah’s bipolar weather I believe Spring is here. Which means we’re closer to the end of school, which means we’re closer to summer, which means I’m closer to living with these cuties. I’ve decided to move to San Diego, California this summer to nanny and live with my sister and her family. There will be sun, swimming, and Disneyland. What more could you want? Sunblock. But, after that, nothing.

I’m wishing…

19 Mar

Spring is almost here and that means it’s time to shop! Unfortunately for me, I’m a poor college student and find “shopping sprees” to be of the grocery variety. I more just window shop by means of the internet. Here’s just a little sample of my current wishlist. I’ll probably never purchase any of these things and that’s why they must live on via my blog!

Spring/Summer wants

P.S.- Do you think anyone’s favorite animal is a lobster?

Right meow.

17 Mar

I’m supposed to be working on homework. On a Friday. On Spring Break. Screw it.

Tonight at dinner I was discussing how people that love, or even legitimately like, cats have no soul. (I find this to be the same with “math people.”) I don’t care much for cats- I’m a dog person through and through. So, Sauerkraut, my pal Seagull (don’t even ask why that’s his nickname- don’t even know,) and I watched some good ole’ Youtube cat videos. First, Seagull showed us a video explaining why cat videos are the way of the future. Called it.

“You think sometimes that you’ll run out of material, with cats, but you never do.”

So, with that, I thought I’d share some of my favorite cat videos:

“She’s so wrapped up in enjoying her massage that she forgets to swallow! And then she drools.”

Pretty long but full of cats being stupid. Stupid cats…

This one was originally aired in France. French cats?! “Oui! Merci, Monsieur!”

Anyway, I think the reason I love cat stuff so much is because I don’t really like cats. So seeing their stupidity just makes it that much better. Plus, who doesn’t love animals pretending to be humans. Ah, makes me laugh everytime.

P.S.- I have an entire board on Pinterest devoted to stupid cats. Look at it here.

That really gets my goat.

P.P.S.- Happy St. Patrick’s Day. The Irish hate cats.

Here’s to fashion.

7 Mar

I don’t know if you know this, but I follow a lot of blogs. Okay, like three. Whatever. I’ve always loved fashion blogs and when the blogger posts where they got their clothes. Today, my friend Brooke (you should follow her blog here- seriously SO good) took some pictures of me for her photography class. I’ve been sick the past two days and haven’t showered as recently as hoped but I agreed. Well she sent me a few of the pictures and I said, “Self- what better time to blog about myself and my clothes?” I replied, “Never. You are a genius.”

Top & Cardigan: Anthropolgie  (only look at their sale stuff because you have got to be a gazillionaire to shop their regular merchandise.) Jeans: Sauerkraut’s, BUT they are from BDG @ UrbanOutfitters. I found a similar pair hereBoots: Steve Madden. I bought them at the Nordstrom’s Half-yearly sale for a steal of a deal! Jewelry was collected from different sources: Earrings on Etsy, rings from random shops.

Anyway, that’s enough about me. How was your day? How’d you enjoy this semi-springish weather?

“I hate hot-hot”

28 Feb
I’ve been wanting to do a friends post for quite some time. I have to start with one specific post because she would be furious if she was included with anyone else on a post. Which is why I love her. She’s my best friend, beauty queen, and soul sister. This one goes out to you Marleenie Weenie

Isn't she a beaut? Butte? Well, she's pretty.

  • I love that she remembers everything I ever said. And gets mad when I don’t remember them.
  • I love that even though we don’t live close anymore it feels like I’m still in her everyday life.
  • I love that she plays the clarinet. I even went to a high school band concert cause I’m thee best best friend ever.
  • I love her freckles.
  • I love making puns with her.
  • I love that we can get super obnoxious but we still think it’s funny. (Although, I’m pretty sure it’s not.)
  • I love that her family is like my second family- mean jokes and all.
  • I love that she borrowed a shirt of mine and then pretended like she didn’t actually steal it for two years because she accidentally bleached it.
  • I love that she always brings me special presents from her trips.
  • I love that she’s my oldest friend ever, and even though I’m not hers she’ll pretend like I am just to make me happy.
  • I love that she named her white Toyota Corolla “Pepper Anne.”
  • I love that she hates horses even though her family owns them.
  • I love that she is pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse even though it’s insanely hard.
  • I love that she doesn’t have to get ready to look amazingly gorgeous
  • I love that she visits me in Provo even though I’ve only visited her in Cedar City once (if you can count a 30 minute Panda Express lunch a visit)
  • I love that I think of her whenever I hear this song.
  • I love that I can tell her gross stories and she loves them.
  • I love that we both look forward to the Riverton City Carnival every summer, even though she hates roller coasters.
  • I love that we were on the phone when I received a mysterious package from Wal-mart Returns Center and she feigned ignorance until I opened it and saw it was my late Christmas present from her.
  • I love that she loves Halloween and tries to make me enjoy it every year.
  • I love that she’s gonna freak when she sees this post because she’s been bothering me about it since I started this blog.
